This is an new and innovative product that allows original model makers to go directly to the vulcanizing stage in the lost wax casting process!

Lacy Hot Wax melts at 550 ºF (regular carving waxes soften at 220 to 240 ºF), so it can be vulcanized with Castaldo jewellery molding rubber to create a rubber mold (normal vulcanizing temperatures are between 290 and 310 ºF).

This eliminates the necessity of casting a metal model to vulcanize, saving time and money and most importantly retaining more of the detail of the original model in the final product.

Lacy Hot Wax is harder than green carving wax and it can be carved, filled, machined, and polished like metal. It is easily worked by gravers, files, burs, lathes, brushes, and rubberized abrasives. Your wax model can be taken to a high finish by polishing Lacy Hot Wax with tripoli and rouge with polishing machines or flexshaft tools.

The detail and finish given to a wax model will be better retained than with conventional carving wax because you take your Lacy Hot Wax model directly to the vulcanizing stage and eliminate one full step in the lost wax casting process.

Flame must not be used on Lacy Hot Wax - it will simply burn - and it cannot be melted for build up (like conventional jewellery carving waxes).
