Moissanite Terminator 2MT2 - Back View

1.  Set the adjustment knob to Large Stone Setting or Small Stone Setting.

Use the Small Stone Setting only when testing gemstones smaller than about 3.5 mm, or when you cannot keep the Probe a tenth of an inch from the metal prongs or other metal surface.

2.  Remove the Protective End Cap from the testing Probe. Press the "Press and Hold" Button with your thumb while your fingers touch the Rear Metal Plate - the Yellow "Testing" Light should light.

The Yellow "Testing" Light must stay on during all testing.
If it does not remain on, the battery needs replacing.

3.  Do a function test by touching your free hand to the Probe - Moissanite will be indicated with a Discontinuous Beep and a Flashing Green Light.

The function test is a simple "Continuity Test". You are testing that the electrical "testing" circuit is complete, from your free hand to the probe tip, to the hand holding the tester and back to your free hand through your body.

4.  Make sure the gemstone to be tested is dry and clean.

5.  To Test a Mounted Stone  Hold the metal part of the ring (or whatever piece your stone is mounted in) with your free hand. Place the testing Probe in the center of the gemstone to be tested, without touching the Probe to any metal surface and as far away as possible from metal. Because Moissanite gemstones are inconsistent, touch the Probe to 3 or 4 points around the center of the gemstone, testing in a circular motion around the center of the gemstone. If a Moissanite is being tested, you will hear a Discontinuous Beep and see a Flashing Green Light.

Moissanite will be indicated if the testing Probe touches metal.

The only subtle error that can be made is getting too close to a metal surface with the testing Probe. When this happens, a small blue spark can be observed between the Probe and the metal and Moissanite will be indicated. The blue spark is difficult to see, so be very careful to keep the Probe away from all metal surfaces.

6.  To Test an Unmounted Stone  Place the stone in the Loose Stone Holder.  Always hold the Loose Stone Holder with your free hand.  Perform the same test described for a mounted stone.

Two-year manufacturer's warranty from date of purchase.
