Tack welders use a very high energy, low voltage current to lightly weld - tack - two pieces of metal together. This is not a permanent weld. A tack weld holds two pieces together so they can be soldered. If the pieces are tacked in the wrong position, the tack can be easily broken and redone. Most work can be held by hand when tacking, so getting the pieces of metal aligned correctly is easy.

Tack welders save you time and increase the accuracy of joining two parts which would otherwise be held together with binding wire and soldered.

Tacking machines can also fusion weld with "fusion type findings" and a fusion offset pencil option. Fusion welds will permanently weld earring posts, tie tacks, lapel pins, joints and catches, and any findings available with a fusion nib.

Three Tack Welding Machines are available

• Tack I - for pre-soldering position tacking
• Tack II - for tacking and fusion welds
• Tack III - Mini Pulse Arc Welder

• Tack I is a low power tacker and is excellent for gold and a few other metals.
• Tack II is more powerful and will work with metals that the Tack I cannot, such as platinum, silver, brass and titanium.
